Synopsis:

“Transflora” is a technology that plants a seed in the body of someone near death and turns them into a plant—the means humanity chose to survive. In the distant future, Earth is buried beneath thick clouds and trapped in endless winter and night. Most plants have withered, and humanity, suffering from oxygen shortages, relies on the small amount produced by Transflora. Toshiro Kamiya, a poor young man, works desperately to pay taxes, living expenses, and medicine for his mentally ill mother, but a merciless reality gradually strips away his hope. In a lightless world, he chooses to become a “Reika,” a plant transformed from a human. Would you keep living as a person or leave your suffering behind and begin a new life as a plant?
